I was so honored to carol again in Brooklyn on Christmas Eve – this year at Kings County Hospital – under the auspices of Opera Noire of New York and The Sanamus Project. Singing with my friends is always a great joy. But volunteerism at this time of year is always extra special. Patients and family members and hospital staff laughed and cried and sang along – at times – grateful for a short respite from worry and thoughts of illness. Music really is healing and I can’t wait for next year’s caroling!
Stephanie McGuire and I will revisit these beautiful Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel duets, as well as many others during our August 25, 2015 concert at The National Opera Center!
